Meet your 2017 Pom Squad Captains!
My name is Alyssa Quintana. I am from San Antonio, Texas and I attended Antonian College Preparatory. I am a senior, communications major here at UTSA. I love being a part of SOSA because I get to share my love for dance with my best friends on the Pom Squad. This upcoming year will be my third year as a captain on Pom and I couldn't be more thankful to have been given this position again because it has helped me grow not only as a dancer, but as an individual.
My favorite quote is 1 Corinthians 13:13, "13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
My name is Morgan Ned and I'm from Cypress, TX. I graduated from Cypress Woods High School in 2014 and made my way to UTSA in the fall. I have had the pleasure of being part of SOSA as a member of the pom squad since 2014 and on student staff going on my 2nd year. I auditioned for the pom squad, because I was not ready to give up one of my passions. Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I could not imagine my life without it just yet. I came to UTSA to pursue Finance, and I will be graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Finance in December 2017! As for my favorite quote/phrase, it would be "Let Go and Let God". Definitely worth keeping those words in mind when things get tough!
Andrea Nichole Presley
I am from Longview, a small town in East Texas. I went to Pine Tree High School where I was a percussionist in the band my freshman year and danced on the dance team for the following 3 years. My junior and senior year I served as Lieutenant of my dance team. I am a senior and am studying Kinesiology with a concentration of Exercise Science and Wellness. I am returning to SOSA for my second year and am happy to be returning as a captain of the Pom Squad! Music and movement have always been a huge part in my daily life and I couldn't see myself not dancing after high school. Before coming to UTSA I attended Tyler Junior College where I danced on their dance team for two years. I live by the motto: "The only person you should strive to be better than is the person you were yesterday" I am excited for a great season and cannot wait to support UTSA as the Spirit of San Antonio!!
