UTSA Pep Band - Spring Semester Pep Band

What is UTSA PEp band?

UTSA Pep Band is a music ensemble course offered in the UTSA School of Music during the spring semester. The primary function of the UTSA Pep Band is to support the UTSA Men’s and Women’s basketball teams at home games as well as at the conference basketball tournament (out of town trip). The UTSA Pep Band also performs at several events in the UTSA and San Antonio communities including Fiesta.

Instruments. Pep Band members are provided a school owned instrument for UTSA Pep Band class at no cost to you provided you are registered for the course.

Uniform. Pep Band members are provided a uniform courtesy of UTSA Bands at no cost to you provided you are register for the course.

Who can participate in the UTSA Pep Band?

The UTSA Pep Band is a Spring Semester music ensemble class in the School of Music open to all UTSA students meeting the following criteria:

1. Official enrollment at the University of Texas at San Antonio (Degree or Non-Degree Seeking)

2. Enrolled into the course (offered as 1/2/3hr; in ASAP go to registration):

1. MUS 3801 - 001 - CRN 42491 - UTSA Pep Band

2. MUS 3802 - 001 - CRN 42493 - UTSA Pep Band

3. MUS 3803 - 001 - CRN 42495 - UTSA Pep band

4. MUS 5811 - 007 - CRN 43797 - Graduate Ensemble Pep Band (graduate students)

Rehearsal Schedule

The ASAP registration portal lists the class meeting times for Pep Band as:

MWF 7p - 9:30pm, however…

…Pep Band does not rehearse every week of the Spring Semester for three days a week. Pep Band class meets on an abbreviated rehearsal schedule in the Spring semester as posted by the band directors (typical rehearsing once a week for the first four weeks of school). An official rehearsal and game schedule will be published in the course syllabus by the band directors by the first day of class.

Game Schedule

UTSA Pep Band attends all home basketball games for the Men’s and Women’s teams. If the team(s) are selected to participate in a tournament (Conference or NCAA), UTSA Pep Band will travel with the teams to support them in the tournament.

Audition Information

No audition is necessary! Simply register for the course and be on the lookout for a meeting schedule from the instructor in the days leading to the first day of class.
