2023 UTSA SOSA Alumni Band

The UTSA Band Alumni is an organization made up of past members of the University of Texas at San Antonio Band programs. Membership is open to all former members of the UTSA Bands and their families. It is our near goal that over the course of the year UTSA Alumni Band members get together several times to participate in various events. Some of these events will include the annual UTSA Alumni Band Day during a UTSA Football game, performances during UTSA Basketball games, as well as an Alumni concert band during TMEA week!
We kicked off our first annual SOSA Alumni Band with an exciting 45 members and have been growing ever since! There is no doubt there is a continually growing sense of pride and tradition in the UTSA community. We proudly welcome back ALL UTSA Music Alumni to join us for this year’s Alumni Band. When you become a member of the UTSA Bands Alumni Association, you contribute to growing our music family as well as supporting our music programs here at UTSA! It is through your generous support that we are able to advance learning and opportunities for many individuals here at UTSA.
Please fill out the Ryzer form to register for Alumni Band. Registration is for SOSA Alumni personnel only. If you have friends or family members that would like to attend the football game they will need to purchase a ticket for entry into the game.
Registration includes: Entry into Alamodome, morning rehearsal (at the Alamodome), backstage access, (optional) Lunch w/The Spirit of San Antonio, game ticket, Commemorative T-Shirt and photo, Music, Pre-Game festivities, VIP Halftime Show performance, and the thrill of a UTSA Football in the comfort of the Alamodome at 72°F!
Information regarding halftime show and music will be sent out closer to game day.
Schedule - 2023 Alumni Band
Check in will be at the Alamodome the morning of the football game. Transportation to the Alamodome is not provided, so please make transportation arrangements to meet SOSA Staff at check in the morning of game day. We have a very limited availability in terms of instruments due to the rapid growth of the marching band. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instrument. Communicate with former high school, friends, and colleagues prior to requesting a UTSA owned instrument. High School Music service, Hillje, and Alamo Music here in San Antonio have rental program. We suggest reaching out to them if you are in need of renting an instrument for the day.
Transportation: Transportation to the Alamodome is not provided. Please make transportation arrangements to meet SOSA Staff in Lot A the morning of check in at the white box trucks.
2:00p - Check in will be at Alamodome (Check in closes 2:45p). Specific location TBD. Parking is on your own.
3:00p - Dress rehearsal with SOSA and Alumni Band; only those in SOSA uniforms (SOSA, Staff, and Alumni) will be allowed into the Alamodome for rehearsal - family and guests may not enter; group photo at end of rehearsal
5:00p - Alumni to Alumni Tailgate
6:00p - SOSA to Teamwalk at Alamodome SE staircase. (Alumni are welcome to join SOSA for team walk)
6:15p - Lunch
7:45p - Pre-game show begins
8:00p - Kickoff
